Caspian Gulls at Hayle Estuary
There have been at least seven individual Caspian Gulls found by Mark Halliday at Hayle this November, which is a superb effort and just reward for the hours Mark puts into his patch. Two of these have been colour ringed which means their life history can be traced. Both birds appear to come from a German ringing scheme and X468 was ringed as a chick in a colony near Leipzig/Saxony in June 2017. It was seen in Finisterre in October 2018 and at Dungeness on 14th September 2019. We await the results from X935! For more images on theses and other Caspian and YL Gull at Hayle, see Marks blog HERE.
